Lakewood's happe remains state of the art
Well, that concludes our story on
the parks of LA, a virtual skate-
board paradise. Not only is LA G
hotbed for park action, but on our
journeys into the area we found
that all types of concrete are
looked to for skate possibilities
The geography of the area
provides skaters with every con
ceivable skate situation imagino
ble. If it's downhill you crave, there
are plenty of roads in the sur-
rounding mountains. Heavy runoff
Rich Rose, aka "Captain Video"
during winter rains demands the
construction of drainage ditches
and cement channels when dry
these banks host a large cut of
non-park type skators
At one time the LA basin con-
tained up to fifteen parks, although
a few have closed, there are shi
many fine parks in operation. If
you are planning a visit to Southom
Califomia don't forget your
stick-skateboarding has never
been better.
